Born and raised in the colorful, culturally rich town of Georgetown, Guyana, Romona grew up surrounded by stories, traditions, and a deep appreciation for diversity. Since moving to the United States in 2001, her passion for uplifting children has reached far beyond her roots—touching lives in orphanages across Central and South America, Europe, and Africa.
A lifelong advocate for kids and the planet, Romona has championed countless charitable and environmental causes. She is also the proud Founder and President of a global nonprofit dedicated to helping children grow in safety, knowledge, and resilience. Through Coconut Tree Books, she shares her love for storytelling, her heart for service, and her belief that every child deserves to feel seen, inspired, and wildly curious.
